Howdy! I’m Jacqueline Cardenas! I am a mom of a preschooler, a toddler, 29 chickens, 1 turkey, and a big cuddly dog named Ozzie! I am married to one of the greatest man in the world! When I’m not chasing my kiddos, baking, or having tea parties, you can find me on the couch reading a book, or visiting with my mom trying to learn how to needlepoint.

I have been a stay-at-home mom since my first child was born almost 5 years ago. Before then, I was an elementary teacher. I recently asked myself “Had I not been a teacher, would I have done intense research on the school systems? Or would I have just sent my kids to school? For example, If my career was in nursing and my maternity leave was over and I had to return to work, would I send my kids to daycare/school or would I have investigated every detail I could scope? The answer is, that I would have done my research just like giving birth.

That is part of why I felt the need to start a blog! To share my reasons for keeping my kids home for as long. Additional reasons for starting this blog, are to share what I’ve learned about natural birthing, detoxifying, gardening, chickens, and books!
